Striker to miss only three games?

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has picked up another injury, but it’s not as bad as first feared, according to recent reports.

The England international suffered a hamstring injury after coming on for Liverpool against Newcastle United on Sunday, and it was reported that he could be out for as long as a month, missing the busy Christmas period.

However, reports today have claimed Sturridge may just miss the clashes with Sion in the Europa League, and two Premier League games against West Bromwich Albion and Watford.

Boxing Day Return

If that is the case, it means the striker could be back for Boxing Day’s clash with table-toppers Leicester City at Anfield.

Sturridge has only just returned from a hip injury, and highlighted his importance to Liverpool by scoring twice in their 6-1 win against Southampton in the Capital One Cup.

However, the latest setback came as a real blow to both player and fans.

Since the news broke, Sturridge posted the following message on Instagram: “I’ll never lose faith in God or belief in myself. Always light at the end of the tunnel. Have a good day people. I’ll be back before you know it…”
