Reds set to spend £56million on Borussia Dortmund duo

Liverpool have given Jurgen Klopp the green-light to spend £56million on Borussia Dortmund stars Marco Reus and Mats Hummels.

The duo have been strongly linked with a move to Anfield since Klopp‘s appointment earlier this season, and according to reports, the board have given him the green-light to spend big on landing them.

Klopp and Dortmund have both admitted that they don’t expect mass-players to leave the Bundesliga club to reunite with the German at Liverpool, but Reus and Hummels are two that the manager desperately wants.

Both stars have been linked with the Premier League before, with Reus linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, while Hummels was also linked with United.

Deals Could Happen

Despite Dortmund initially saying they don’t expect Klopp to raid them, their CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has explained that there would be no hard feelings if transfer occurred.

‘We have a very good relationship with Jurgen,’ he said.

‘There would be no conflict were there to be interest in one of our players at some point. He would contact us before (he contacts the player).’
