Premier League side Liverpool have had a loan bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards rejected, according to Sportsmail.
The Reds are desperate to add depth to their side this month and after missing out on Mohamed Salah, Brendan Rodgers admitted that he was starting to feel frustrated at the lack of activity.
Rodgers then confirmed after the Everton game that he would work as hard as he could to make big-name signings on deadline day, but their pursuit for a new defender seems to have suffered a setback.
Richards has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium due to Pablo Zabaleta cementing the first-team spot and was rumoured to be leaving the club this month, but according to reports, a loan move from Liverpool has been turned away.
