Liverpool hold shock talks with Radamel Falcao

Liverpool are reportedly feeling very confident regarding their chances of signing AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, despite the French club insisting he is going nowhere.

Falcao, who returned from a serious injury at the weekend, scored the winning goal on Sunday against Arsenal in the Emirates Cup, and his future has been in the air after he admitted that he didn’t like the lack of competition in France.

This sparked rumours that Real Madrid and Chelsea would make formal moves for him, but according to reports, Liverpool are in pole position to land the Colombian.

An Italian journalist reported yesterday that ‘a very good source’ told her that talks between Liverpool and Monaco have been ongoing, and that they are positive, but she insisted that the deal isn’t done yet, but it looks like The Reds are favourites to land the 28-year-old.

It’s believed the deal would be a loan move at first, with the option to make it permanent for next season.
