Reds to make move for Alexandre Lacazette

Liverpool will make a formal move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, should they manage to offload Christian Benteke in the summer.

The Belgian striker has struggled to settle in at Anfield following his ÂŁ32.4million move from Aston Villa, scoring just eight goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp‘s side.

It was Brendan Rodgers who signed Benteke, but since his sacking and Klopp‘s arrival, the striker has spent most of his time on the bench.

Despite Benteke confirming his desire to stay at Liverpool and fight for his career, Klopp and officials may have other ideas and according to reports, they are wanting to offload him at the end of the season.

Replacement Identified

If Liverpool do manage to sell Benteke, with several teams reportedly interested, they will look to sign Lyon striker Lacazette, who’s been on their radar for some time now.

Lacazette has been with the Ligue 1 side since 2009, but he’s recently admitted that a move to the Premier League is tempting.

He snubbed a move to Newcastle United before the start of the season, but with clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all interested, he may complete a move to England sooner rather than later.

The 24-year-old has netted 15 goals so far this season for Lyon and would cost Liverpool at least ÂŁ22million.
