Liverpool are favourites to sign Lyon midfielder, Yoann Gourcuff, after his agent confirmed interest is there.
The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move to England for the past few seasons, with Manchester City and Arsenal previously linked, but according to the players agent, it is Liverpool who are now in pole position.
The 28-year-old is coming to the end of his contract at Lyon, and after making just 15 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, he is tempted to leave the club permanently at the end of the season.
According to his agent, Liverpool are keen admirers and are hopeful of securing a deal.
‘In any transfer market, some foreign clubs come knocking at the door for Yoann,’ Didier Poulmaire told SportMediaset.
‘In the past it was Manchester City, while this year, it’s Liverpool.
‘I’m sure offers will arrive in the next window.’Gourcuff can sign a pre-contract deal at any point to join Liverpool.
