According to reports, Liverpool are set to hold talks with Arsenal target Serge Aurier from French side Toulouse.
The Ivorian right-back is Arsene Wenger’s number-one target to replace Manchester City-bound Bacary Sagna, but after stalling on the potential move, Brendan Rodgers may come in at the last minute and hijack the move.
It’s well documented that Aurier is an Arsenal fan, but reports broke last night saying the two parties are not in talks and there has been no contact between the two for over a month now, which has paved the way for Liverpool to open talks with the 21-year-old.
It’s believed the right-back would cost around £7million, and with the two English clubs interested, Aurier’s agent has confirmed that nothing has been agreed with Arsenal.
‘There is no agreement with Arsenal,’ said agent Stephane Courbis.
‘We’ve talked in past but there has been nothing recently. We’re in talks with another English side.’
