Liverpool insist Jürgen Klopp’s assistant has not quit the club.
Liverpool have responded to reports that assistant manager Željko Buvač has left the club following a bust-up with Jürgen Klopp.
Many reports have recently claimed that Buvač had stepped down after a breakdown in his 17-year relationship with Klopp.
One of the English reports wrote:
“Klopp and Buvač had a big falling out, and Buvač has been left completely out of the loop of late.
“They stand apart in training, Buvač doesn’t go to tactical meetings, and he is no longer involved in picking the team.
“In the past, he was the only one who had Klopp’s ear. The relationship had broken down, and the players have been told Buvač is gone.”
However, Liverpool insist Buvač will only be taking a short break until the end of the season for personal reasons, and remains an employee of the club.
