Liverpool interested in Victor Valdes

Reds plotting shock move for Manchester United outcast

Liverpool are eyeing a move for Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes, according to reports.

The Reds signed Bolton Wanderers ‘keeper Adam Bogdan over the summer on a free transfer, but Brendan Rodgers wants to add another shot-stopper who can challenge Simon Mignolet for the number-one jersey.

Valdes has been put on the shelf at Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal not giving him a squad number or giving him a club suit for the season after he refused to play in the reserves last year.

Van Gaal attacked the Spaniard during the pre-season tour and revealed he’d never play for the club again.

Chelsea and Liverpool Interested

Valdes has been linked with an emergency loan move to Chelsea after the injury sustained to Thibaut Courtois, but according to reports this morning, Liverpool could enter the race in the New Year.

The 33-year-old nearly joined Super Lig outfit Besiktas over the summer, but the deal fell through at the latter stages, leaving Valdes stranded at United.
