Shakhtar Donetsk confirm Jurgen Klopp is keen on striking a deal
Shakhtar Donetsk’s general director has confirmed that Liverpool are leading the race to sign striker Alex Teixeira, with Jurgen Klopp keen on getting a deal done.
The Brazilian striker is desperate to seek a move away from Ukraine, but has been frustrated with Shakhtar refusing to sell him for anything less than their valuation.
Shakhtar have put a £38million price-tag on his head, but Liverpool have only been willing to offer £31m. The Reds have so far had three formal bids turned down for the 26-year-old.
Sergiy Palkin, the club’s director, has confirmed that the striker is not likely to leave this window, but could be put up for sale at the end of the season, and he’s also confirmed that it’s Liverpool leading the race.

“I am sure that without the agreement of Klopp there would not be a discussion with Liverpool,” he told Ukrainian outlet Terrikon.
“He wants to have a personal meeting with Teixeira in Liverpool.”
