Arsenal and Manchester City are also interested in the teenager

Since Jurgen Klopp took over the charge of Liverpool in 2015, the team have improved considerably under him. He guided the Reds to a first European final since 2007 by reaching the final of Europa League in 2016.

This season the English giants have exceeded everyone’s expectations and the front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have been scoring goals for fun. They have helped the team to reach the finals of Champions League, where they will face Real Madrid on 27th May.

RB Leipzig’s midfielder Naby Keita is set to arrive in the club this summer but Klopp is looking to make more signings in order to strengthen the squad for next season.

The Red’s are interested in signing Porto’s Diogo Leite this summer. The centre-back has been watched by them and have been impressed with the youngster’s performances for the Portuguese side’s B team this season.

But other Premier League teams are also interested in him. Liverpool are hoping to beat Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City to the signing of teenager Diogo Leite, reports The Guardian.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to match Leite’s €15 million release clause, but face missing out on the 19-year-old as Anfield is his likeliest destination at the moment.

Liverpool are building a strong reputation for developing young talent under the German coach and that could help them steal a march on Arsenal and City. If the deal is completed they plan to send the defender out on loan next season to ensure he plays regular first-team football.
