Carragher gives his thoughts
Jamie Carragher believes that Chelsea’s success this season is down to their world-class players.
Antonio Conte has been praised in recent weeks for implementing a 3 at the back system that has turned the team’s fortunes around despite a slow start to the season.
Chelsea now sit at the top of the league after 13 games, a point ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City.
And Carragher reckons their players are they key to the success at Stamford Bridge,
“Chelsea have got very good players, a lot of those players won the title only 18 months ago,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“I always felt Chelsea would be right at the top of the league.
“You go through the team they’ve got too many world-class players in there, it’s not just the system.
“Yeah, it’s helping certain players. David Luiz especially and Eden Hazard.
“You shouldn’t forget Hazard in a team with a back-four was player of the year two years ago.
“Liverpool, attacking wise, have looked as good as anyone but Chelsea look like they’ve got a great balance at both ends of the pitch.”
