The Napoli goalkeeper could be available on the cheap

Liverpool are considering a move to bring their former keeper, Pepe Reina, back to the club.

The Reds have already signed a keeper in Loris Karius this summer, as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of next season. However, boss Jurgen Klopp wants to bring in yet ANOTHER keeper in a bid to ensure he has plenty of options in goal.

Klopp has identified that defence is one of his main areas to strengthen and he looks to be wasting no time in bringing in players capable of doing a good job in between the sticks.

If Reina was to make the move back to Anfield, the Reds would have FIVE players who could play in goal in Mignolet, Bogdan, Karius, Ward and then Reina.

Napoli deal runs until 2018

Whether Reina would start or be a backup or even third choice is unclear. However, Klopp is reportedly keen to sign the 33-year old and could be able to sign the Spaniard on the cheap too, despite his current deal in Italy running until 2018.

He’s spent the last few seasons as the Serie A side’s main goalkeeper and has done rather well in Italy. Despite this, he could be signed for potentially less than £5m, which would be a good deal for the Reds.

If Liverpool decide to do business with Napoli, then we could very well see a return to Anfield for the keeper next season.
