Liverpool have placed a £14.2m transfer offer for Xherdan Shaqiri. The Bayern Munich man has been told by his club that he can leave if the price is right and a host of clubs all across Europe are looking to take him off the Bundesliga club’s hands.
Swiss publication Blick has now claimed that Liverpool are leading the race to sign the winger, after making a £14.2m bid. The Reds have been keeping tabs on Shaqiri for quite some time now and they are looking to finally secure a deal for him and they’re hoping they can do it quickly.
Bayern are yet to accept the offer but it is believed to be close to their valuation of the player and it is likely that it will be accepted.
However, in contradictory reports, the 22-year old told the media earlier this week that he wouldn’t be leaving Bayern, but he did deny giving any interviews about it in a post on his Facebook page. Only time will tell if this move goes ahead or not, with the reported bid sitting on the table waiting to be accepted or rejected.
