Liverpool are willing to offer Lille substantial compensation in order to recall striker Divock Origi from his loan spell in France.
Origi’s season long loan deal includes a binding agreement, that doesn’t allow Liverpool to recall the player early.
With Daniel Sturridge’s latest injury setback, and the trio of Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini struggling to find the net, it has almost reached crisis point for Brendan Rodgers.
Lille though are unlikely to budge with director Jean-Michel Vandamme saying it would be impossible to let their top scorer go in January.
It doesn’t get any easier for Rodgers with Liverpool travelling to Crystal Palace on Sunday, where they let a 3 goal lead slip last season, contributing to them missing out on the title.
