Liverpool have made an improved ‘take it or leave it’ offer to Southampton for the services of midfielder Adam Lallana.
The club previously made a £20 million bid for the player but Southampton were unwilling to sell as they want the full asking price for Lallana as 25% of the transfer fee will go to his previous club, Bournemouth.
Now Liverpool have tabled £25 million pounds to test Southampton’s resolve and hope to also complete a deal for Rickie Lambert on Monday.
The Red’s want the deal to be done swiftly and before the World Cup to allow the club to move onto other targets.
