Liverpool are on the brink of signing Burnley striker, Danny Ings, ahead of the Summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old only has months left on his contract and after staying at the club during the January window, it’s expected that he will leave for free at the end of the season once his contract expires.

There was a lot of speculation yesterday that David Moyes wanted to sign him for Real Sociedad and that a pre-contract had been signed, but those reports were false, and it now looks like Liverpool could be favourites to land the striker.

Brendan Rodgers wanted to sign Ings this month and then loan him back to his current club, however, the FA got involved and warned them that that would be illegal.

However, reports are saying that a deal could be completed within weeks that sees him move to Anfield in the Summer.

Due to being under-23, Liverpool will have to pay a compensation fee of around ÂŁ5million.
