Former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes is currently undergoing a medical at Liverpool ahead of a move on a free transfer.
Valdes, who left the Nou Camp at the end of last season, has had problems with knee injuries in recent months. He is expected to have recovered from these sufficiently as to pass the medical.
This medical could happen during the international break, and might even lead to playing in Liverpool’s next Premier League match, against QPR.
Valdes was a part of Spain’s 2010 World Cup winning squad, mainly as back-up to Iker Casillas.
Should both keepers be fully fit, Valdes is expected to take the No.1 jersey from Simon Mignolet.
