John W Henry quashes rumours
Liverpool owner John W Henry has denied suggestions that the club is set to be sold by Christmas.
Rumours were circulating that Chinese investors ‘China Everbright’ were ready to buy the club, and talks are thought to be taking place.
But in response to claims that the club could be in other hands by the end of the year, or even sooner, Henry clarified that the information was wrong.
Talksport reporter Ian Abrahams wrote: ‘My sources are tellling me tonight, the takeover is expected to be completed before Christmas & possibly by the end of this week.’
Henry replied: ‘Good that your sources will be debunked so soon. Usually it takes a long time!’
FSG, who also own baseball franchise the Boston Red Sox, bought Liverpool for £300m in 2010.

It is thought that FSG are not willing to sell the club outright but could be open to investors.
China Everbright could be potential investors to sponsor the new Main Stand at Anfield, which it’s understood FSG are willing to sell the rights for.
