Liverpool ownership group Fenway Sports Group have made it clear that the club is not for sale. There were reports that the cousin of Manchester City’s owner Sheikh Mansour wanted to buy the club in 2017 and had a bid of £2 billion rejected.
Liverpool released a statement responding to those reports. The statement read, “FSG have been clear and consistent in their stance that the club is not for sale. What the ownership have said again clearly and consistently is that ‘under the right terms and conditions we would consider taking on a minority investor, if such a partnership was to further our commercial interests in specific marketplaces and in-line with the continued development and growth of the club and the team.
Liverpool are presently second in the table below Manchester City. They take on Brighton and Hove Albion tomorrow.
