Montenegro international is fourth choice at Etihad
Liverpool are lining up a large transfer bid for Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic.
The 25-year-old has failed to impress manager Manuel Pellegrini in his two years at the Etihad after his £22million transfer from Italian giants Fiorentina in 2013 and the Sky Blues hierarchy are keen to ship him on this summer.
Liverpool Interested in Fourth Choice
The Montenegro international has scored 11 goals in 39 appearances for City and has become fourth choice striker under Pellegrini following the January signing of Wilfried Bony from Swansea City.
However, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to take a risk on the striker and will make an initial offer of £16million to secure the forwards services with Reds striker Fabio Borini on the verge of signing for Serie A side Lazio.
