Liverpool are bracing themselves for a huge battle to keep Luis Suarez at the club this summer. Reports are claiming that Barcelona and Real Madrid will fight it out to try and secure the strikers signature in the transfer window.
Despite the fact the Uruguayan signed a new deal four months ago, it hasn’t put off the two Spanish giants who are both desperate to sign Suarez. The bad news for both clubs though, is that the old release clause of £40m in his contract has gone. Instead, reports are claiming it has been replaced with one worth around £82m.
Real Madrid are favourties to make the move for the 27-year old but Barcelona may end up challenging them for him. Either one of them could be willing to take the risk of triggering the huge reported release clause.
If they do, it could be bye bye England and hello Spain for the Liverpool man.
