The Reds want Geoffrey Kondogbia and Aymen Abdennour

Liverpool are believed to be lining up a move for Monaco’s Geoffrey Kondogbia and Aymen Abdennour.

According to L’Equipe, the Reds are very interested in the pair and could make a joint bid of around ÂŁ46m for the two of them.

Monaco have to sell this summer to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules and they could be willing to sell these two players with several top teams interested.

Arsenal also want Kondogbia

Arsene Wenger is also rumoured to be preparing a move for 22-year old Kondogbia but Brendan Rodgers is willing to match any offer the Gunners make to try and secure his signature.

He is valued at around ÂŁ25m and it is a fee that both Premier League teams are willing to pay.

As for Abdennour, he has also been linked with several teams over the past few seasons and this year he is being linked with a move to Anfield, as Rodgers looks to finally solve the club’s recent defensive problems.

The Reds will be looking to improve their backline over the summer, with summer signing Dejan Lovren not doing as well as expected at the club. Abdennour could be the answer to their problems.

He could be available for ÂŁ21.5m, meaning that a joint bid for the duo could cost Liverpool‘s owners a total of ÂŁ46m.
