Liverpool are set to ramp up their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward, Ezequiel Lavezzi, and are prepared to pay up to £14million for the Argentine.
The 29-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield since the Summer, but after signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan instead, the proposed deal collapsed and Lavezzi was forced to stay in France despite the interest elsewhere.
However, his time in Paris hasn’t improved since the Summer and his game-time is still few-and-far-between and he is now desperate to quit the club in order to save his career.
After becoming a star in Italy with Napoli, Lavezzi secured a big-money move to PSG but has failed to cement a first-team place this season under Laurent Blanc.
According to reports, Liverpool are ready to wrap up the deal before the deadline and are prepared to pay up to £14m in order to lure him away from Paris.
