Liverpool target £30million Striker

As Jurgen Klopp prepares for a summer overhaul, the latest striker to be linked with a big-money move to Merseyside is Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi.

According to news outlet the Mirror, the Merseyside club have joined Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in the pursuit of Batshuayi, who is reported to be valued at around £30 million.

It is becoming more and more apparent that Christian Benteke will be leaving the club at the end of the season, Liverpool will most likely need a replacement for the player.

This season, the 22-year-old has scored 15 goals in 33 league games, as well as laying on a further nine goals for his team-mates. This statistic, along with his young age means that he would be a fantastic player to add to the ranks at Liverpool.

Despite being at least two years younger than his competitors, his goalscoring tally is behind only Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexandre Lacazette and Hatem Ben Arfa, who will all be in a race to be named Ligue 1’s top scorer.

He is yet to miss a game through injury in the past two seasons, showing that Batshuayi has the consistency to cover for the injury-prone Daniel Sturbridge when he inevitably gets injured, too.

The only major setback for the Reds would be the £30million price tag slapped on the youngster. However, if the stats currently seen are translated into the Premier League, Michy Batshuayi could see himself become one of the true Premier League greats.
