Liverpool’s hopes of signing the striker look to be over

Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca has agreed personal terms to join AC Milan and snub Liverpool according to his agent.

However the clubs have not yet finalised the transfer fee, with Milan negotiating over Bacca’s ÂŁ21.2 million buyout clause.

Liverpool looked set to sign the highly rated striker just three days ago, but it looks likely to be another disappointment in the transfer market for Brendan Rodgers.

Roma have also expressed an interest in the player.

The Colombia international, who’s national side got knocked out of the Copa America yesterday, starred last season as Sevilla went onto win the Europa League.

Bacca’s agent Sergio Barila revealed his client “chose what is best for his future”, despite saying last week that Bacca would be interested in a move to Anfield.

“I can confirm that Milan and the player reached an agreement,” Barila told MilanNews.it.

“Carlos chose what is best for his future, so it’s only natural he is happy. How long is the deal for? You’d best ask the Rossoneri that.”

Bacca scored 28 goals in 56 first team appearances in all competitions last season, a goal ratio of one every two games.

Milan turned their attention on signing the 28 year old, after pulling out of a move for Bacca’s fellow Colombia national team striker Jackson Martinez, who confirmed he was signing for Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Sky Italia are also reporting that Milan defender Adil Rami won’t be included in the transfer as a swap deal, as Rami looks set to join Lyon.
