Liverpool are plotting a Summer move for yet another Southampton star as Brendan Rodgers eyes a move for Jay Rodriguez.
The Reds have already secured the signings of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from St Marys Stadium, and they are strongly linked with a move for Dejan Lovren and are now keen on signing striker Rodriguez, who suffered a horror injury at the end of last season.
The Saints have had a torrid Summer so far as they lost manager Mauricio Pochettino, a long with Luke Shaw and the two Liverpool signings.
However, new boss, Ronald Koeman, has tried to reassure Southampton fans by saying no more players will be leaving the club in the transfer window, despite Lovren, Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin all attracting interest from Liverpool and Arsenal respectively.
Rodgers is keen to add more attacking options to Liverpool after they finally lost controversial figure Luis Suarez to FC Barcelona, and Rodriguez could be the man who is added to the Anfield attack-force.
It is unknown how much they are prepared to spend on the striker.
