Liverpool to allow TEN players to leave

Liverpool could have a summer clear-out with as many as ten players possibly exiting the Anfield doors.

The Reds gaffer, Brendan Rodgers, who has failed to win a trophy this season with the club after a shock defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final, is ready to let ten of his players leave the club.

Captain and long-servant Steven Gerrard has already agreed a wealthy deal with MLS side LA Galaxy

The contract of right-back Glen Johnson is expiring at the end of the season and is set to leave on a free transfer.

Defender Kolo Toure is also out-of-contract when the season finishes but he is undecided as to whether he wants to sign a new deal with the Reds.

Raheem Sterling, one of the Reds’ most valuable players, is rumoured to join current Premier League champions Manchester City but Italian giants Juventus have also shown great interest in the winger.

Bundesliga club Wolfsburg are the latest club to be linked with defender Martin Skrtel with the Slovakian’s contract expiring in 2016.

Right-back Javi Manquillo is on the brink of returning to Atletico Madrid in Spain after failing to impress Rodgers throughout the season.

Reports suggest that Liverpool will listen to all suitable offers for goal-drought striker Mario Balotelli but sources say they wouldn’t be willing to sell to a ‘rival’.

The Reds could even let Balotelli leave for a lot less than some may expect as the club want to get rid of his £90,000-a-week wages.

Fabio Borini wanted to stay at Liverpool at the start of this season but after failing to score a great amount of goals under Rodgers, he could depart to a Premier League side in the bottom-half of the table.

Rickie Lambert could depart as the Reds boss doesn’t think the big forward fits into the style of his play with old club Southampton being linked with a move back for the striker.

Liverpool want to buy a new goalkeeper to put some pressure on their first choice, Simon Mignolet, meaning substitute goalkeeper Brad Jones will be out of the equation with several Championship clubs being interested in the Australian.

However, there is some brighter news for Liverpool fans – Jordan Henderson is the third player to sign a new deal with the club along with striker Daniel Sturridge and attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool are monitoring PSV winger Memphis Depay but they would have to pay a large transfer fee to beat-off Manchester United who are favourites to sign the Dutchman.
