Reds desperately want to sign Schalke starlet
Liverpool are expected to ‘go big’ in order to sign Schalke star Leroy Sane, according to retired-footballer and now pundit, Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Sane was one of Brendan Rodgers‘ targets over the summer, but he failed to lure the 19-year-old to Anfield, meaning he stayed put in the Bundesliga.
However, now with Jurgen Klopp in charge, it’s expected that the Premier League side will renew their interest in the New Year, and it’s predicted that they will go all out to sign him.
The teenager has scored five goals already this season, and has continued to develop into one of Europe’s top teenagers, sparking speculation about his long-term future.
Despite staying at Schalke over the summer, Fjortoft thinks the January window could be different for the teenager and he feels Liverpool will be going all-out to get the deal over the line.
‘Going Big’
He tweeted: “I expect Liverpool and Klopp go “big time” for Schalke-striker Leroy Sane.”
Sane can play up-front, but is commonly used as an attacking-midfielder.
