Reds could make £21.2million offer for striker

Liverpool are tempted to launch a formal bid for Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo, according to reports.

The Reds are still considered to be in the market for a new striker, despite having three arrive at Anfield already this summer.

Strikers at Anfield

Brendan Rodgers has already signed Danny Ings from Burnley and Christian Benteke from Aston Villa, as well as having Divock Origi return from a season-long loan at Lille.

However, with Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini set to be sold, Rickie Lambert leaving for West Bromwich Albion and Daniel Sturridge‘s fitness concerns, Rodgers may want to add another option to his squad.

Liverpool and Arsenal Interest

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are weighing up a possible bid for the former-Manchester City star and could lodge a bid of around £21.2m with the La Liga outfit ready to sell.

Valencia are ready to sell the Spaniard and are open to offers despite only landing him permanently last year.

Arsenal have also been linked with signing the 29-year-old, but Liverpool are favourites as it stands.
