Liverpool are planning a sensational summer swoop for trio Arturo Vidal, Marco Reus, and Paul Pogba, from under the noses of their Premier League rivals, according to the Daily Star.
The Reds are looking to build a squad capable of mounting another title challenge, and will use the £75 million they received from Barcelona from striker Luis Suarez, to do so.
And that he pushed Rodgers towards Juventus pair of Pogba and Vidal.
Both players have been linked with moves to England respectively, having enjoyed superb seasons at Italian Serie A Champions Juventus.
Meanwhile Reus is recovering from a recent injury which forced him to miss the World Cup finals with Germany, having impressed with Borussia Dortmund last season.
The Merseyside club have recently spent £60m on Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic, and Rodger’s want’s to do more in the market.
Rodgers stated: “We are working hard behind the scenes to find players, but it will not be a direct replacement [for Suarez].
“We are looking for several players who can add to what we have and improve us again.
“Obviously, Luis going gives us the clout to go and spend more and we are getting the right type of player in.
“We certainly won’t spend just for the sake of spending. It has to be the sort of player who is going to improve us. But we will definitely be stronger this season – no doubt.”
