Liverpool were also linked with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar
Liverpool are chasing Monaco’s Thomas Lemar for more than over a year now. Their bid for him was rejected by Monaco last summer as they wanted to keep hold of him but the Reds are still interested in signing the Frenchman this summer. But according to latest reports, Liverpool are also chasing Monaco’s another star Christian Koffi.
According to French daily  L’Equipe, Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Christian Koffi from Monaco this summer. Its’s also reported that the player too want to join the Reds this summer.
Koffi came through the ranks of Monaco and is rated very highly at the club and already been offered a professional contract. He is an attacking midfielder by trait and is already being compared to Liverpool’s Sadio Mane. His contract is set to expire on June 30 this summer.
Other top European clubs are also interested in signing the 17 year old but Liverpool are leading the race. But Monaco would like to keep their prized asset in the club by making him sign the professional contract before his contract expires.
Koffi is eligible to play both for France and Ivory Coast. He also had made 2 appearances in this season’s UEFA Youth League.
