Striker will leave the club on a free

Burnley striker Danny Ings has confirmed that he will be leaving Turf Moor when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, is a keen admirer of the 22-year-old and wants to bolster his attack for next season and will be available on a Bosman.

The Clarets will be due compensation for a move because the England U21 international is under the age of 24 but the forward ended his Burnley career in good style with a winner against Aston Villa.

When the whistle sounded at full-time earlier today, the former Bournemouth star admitted that he would be moving on in the summer transfer window.

Ings Confirm Move

Ings said: “It was quite an emotional day for me today.

“I think everybody knows what’s been going on off the pitch and I wanted to finish my last game here in style.

“I’m just over the moon that I managed to get the winning goal in front of all the fans that travelled.” he added.

Burnley will play their football in the Championship next season after their relegation from the Premier League.
