Liverpool set to secure Gleison Bremer for £50 million
In a latest development for Liverpool’s summer transfer plans, the club has been informed that a £50 million bid will secure Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.
This information comes from sources close to the club, marking Bremer as a top priority as Liverpool seeks to bolster its defensive lineup.
Since joining Torino in 2018 and moving to Juventus in 2022, Bremer has established himself as a key player in Serie A.
At 27, his defensive prowess has made him a sought-after talent, and Liverpool’s interest underscores their intent to strengthen their backline ahead of the new season.
Liverpool previously reported that Liverpool is also eyeing 19-year-old Juventus talent Dean Huijsen. Although Huijsen is seen as a future star, the Reds remain focused on bringing in an experienced defender this summer, with Bremer and Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP topping their list.
Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi had been considered, but the Eagles’ £70 million valuation has deterred Liverpool. Instead, the club’s attention has shifted firmly to Bremer and Inacio.
Bremer, who has five caps for Brazil, signed a new contract with Juventus last December, keeping him in Turin until June 2028. However, Liverpool’s willingness to meet the £50 million asking price shows their determination to secure his services.
With Virgil van Dijk’s future at Anfield uncertain as his contract nears its 2025 expiration, Bremer’s potential arrival could be crucial for Liverpool’s defensive stability.
The coming weeks will reveal if Liverpool can finalize this pivotal signing, but the groundwork is clearly laid for Bremer to become a key figure at Anfield.
