Liverpool have been told that AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic will cost them just shy of £22million.

The Reds are in the market to replace Steven Gerrard who is MLS bound this Summer after agreeing a deal with LA Galaxy, and early indications show that Brendan Rodgers wants to sign Pjanic from Roma.

The Bosnian international is an attack-minded midfielder and has been in good form for Rudi Garcia’s men this season, contributing with six goals and six assists in the Serie A.

However, according to reports in Italy, Liverpool aren’t the only team chasing Pjanic as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with signing the 25-year-old.

With interest in him high, Roma have been quick to put a price-tag on Pjanic’s head and have asked clubs to pay around £21.8m, and with Liverpool promising regular first-team football, it may put them in the drivers seat despite the possibility of no Champions League football next season.
