Inter Milan want £16million for Croatian

Inter Milan have reportedly told Liverpool that it would take a £16million for them to sell midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The 21-year-old has been superb for the Serie A side this season and has been attracting some major interest from across Europe, but it seems his biggest admirers come from Anfield, who want to make him the long-term Steven Gerrard replacement.

Gerrard Replacement

The England international is set to leave Liverpool this Summer as he prepares for a career in America with LA Galaxy, and Brendan Rodgers‘ search for a replacement has already begun.

Liverpool have been linked with James Milner from Manchester City, but they seem to have targeted Kovacic as a potential signing.

Asking Price Revealed

According to reports, The Reds tabled an offer of around £7m for the midfield-man, but the Serie A side have snubbed that and told the Premier League giants to at least double their bid.

Gazetta dello Sport are reporting that Inter officials have told Liverpool that they want around £16m for the 21-year-old and won’t accept anything less.

Rodgers is a keen admirer of the Croat and will probably agree to meet the asking price once the transfer window opens up.

Drastic Summer Changes

Liverpool are expected to be very busy over the Summer after they try and fix the damages of a below-par season and a below-par transfer window this time last year.

Several players are expected to leave the club with reports claiming up to nine first-team players could be sold or let go over the Summer, whilst drastic signings are expected as well.
