Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has hailed Liverpool as the toughest opposition in the Champions League round of 16 this season. The Bavarians will lock horns with the Reds in the first leg of their Champions League matchup at Anfield, which is expected to be one of the hard fought matches in the competition this season.
Speaking ahead of the match, the Bayern manager said, “Tomorrow we’re playing against an opponent that’s the most difficult draw. If you look at what Liverpool did in the Champions League last season and what Liverpool are doing in the Premier League this season, then you have to say Liverpool is the most difficult draw that there is.”
He added, “Other draws would have been difficult. But I maintain that tomorrow and in Munich the form on the day will be decisive. I don’t know if there is a favourite or not. Liverpool has respect for us as we do for them and there will be a sporting contest tomorrow.”
