Rodriguez set to join Las Palmas
The President of Las Palmas has revealed that Liverpool target Jese Rodrigez is ‘so close’ to joining the La Liga side.
The 23-year-old PSG player, who was born in Las Palmas and supported the club as a child, has been linked with moves to Premier League duo Liverpool and Middlesbrough after being told he is free to leave PSG during the current transfer window.
However, it is Las Palmas who are now on the verge of luring Jese back to Spain, leading the race to sign a player who’s wage they initially claimed they couldn’t afford.
‘Fortunately, I’m seeing Jese closer to Las Palmas,’ President Miguel Angel Ramirez told Cadena SER.
‘We can’t compete financially with the others who want Jese but the player himself wants to join,’ he added.
‘(Friday) will be a key day in the negotiations. We’ve never been so close to signing Jese.’
Las Palmas are currently 11th in La Liga after their form has dipped following an impressive start to the current campaign.
