It’s rumoured that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will go in for England youngster Steven Caulker in the summer, because he believes he can ‘tighten the defence’
Liverpool manager Rodgers worked with Caulker for a season at Swansea after signing the central defender on loan for the Welsh club from Tottenham.
Caulkers rated as one of the best up-coming youngsters for Cardiff and England, with his dominance in the air and abilty to pop up with a goal or two a season.
With Cardiff currently sitting in 19th and really struggling it would be very difficult for them to keep Caulker if they go down, and it wouldn’t bring any surprise to see one of the big clubs go in for him, seeing as Caulker would provide great squad depth.
Liverpool’s need for greater strength at the back has been highlighted this month, as Rodgers’ team have conceded nine goals and Kolo Toure has endured a tough time.
