Reds want to resolve striker problems

Liverpool will make a Summer move for Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic after Brendan Rodgers has seemingly given up on his current strike-force.

The Reds have had a torrid season in front of goal compared to last campaign, with Luis Suarez leaving to join FC Barcelona and Daniel Sturridge missing most of the season through injuries.

Striker Woes at Anfield

After selling Suarez for ÂŁ75million, Rodgers replaced the Uruguayan with Rickie Lambert from Southampton and Mario Balotelli from AC Milan.

As well as the two new faces, Rodgers also kept faith in Fabio Borini after his successful loan-spell away at Sunderland for a portion of last season.

However, the trio have failed to set Anfield alight with their performances and all three face uncertain futures.

Rodgers is desperate to sign a new striker at the end of the season and Mandzukic could be the man he wants.

The Croatian has netted 20 goals so far this season for the La Liga side, but according to reports in recent weeks, he has fallen out with Diego Simeone.

It’s believed the 28-year-old would cost around ÂŁ26million.
