History and Philippe Coutinho helped choose
Philippe Coutinho was the man whom convinced Roberto Firmino to join Liverpool over their arch rivals, Manchester United.
The Brazilian playmaker was close to joining the Old Traford outfit, however, Firmino’s Brazilian colleague Coutinho stepped in and made sure Anfield was his destination.
Firmino penned a five-year deal at Liverpool in a move worth £29m.
Why Firmino Chose Liverpool
Firmino said: “As a football fan, I’ve been watching the Premier League for a while now.
“Liverpool was my choice because of its history and its team, and also because Coutinho told me some great things about the club.”
