Paul Parker gives insight!
Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker believes that Liverpool will embark on a powerful spell under Jurgen Klopp, and will dominate English football for the next decade.
Klopp was appointed Reds boss last October and, despite only injury problems with players that weren’t his own, reached 2 cup finals in his debut season as Reds boss.
And now, after an intelligent transfer window from the club, the team are joint top of the league after 10 games, up there on 23 points with Manchester City and Arsenal.
The Reds have fashioned impressive victories over Leicester, Arsenal and Chelsea in the opening weeks of the season, with the only blip on the record being an uncharacteristic loss away to Burnley.
They now go into a run of fixtures where they will like they can take wins from most games, with Watford, Bournemouth, Middlesborough and Sunderland all on the way before December.
Parker, 55, won two Premier League titles with the Red Devils in the early 90s, and believes Klopp will guide Liverpool to a similar period of dominance in the Premier League during the next ten years.
‘Expect to see a Liverpool dynasty like the 1970s and 80s under Jurgen Klopp,’ Parker wrote in his Eurosport column.
‘This season’s Premier League will probably prove too much, but they will be the team to beat over the next five or six years
‘I repeat: we will soon have a dominant Liverpool.
‘Will they win the league every season? No, but that supremacy will extend into the cup competitions and into Europe. They have a manager who understands European competition and has a real plan for this Liverpool side.’
