The shot-stopper could swap West London for North London

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is on the verge of signing for the Blues’ London rivals Arsenal.

Reports suggest that the Czech Republic international has agreed personal terms at the Emirates Stadium, with the only real stumbling block being that the two clubs have to agree a fee for the deal to go through.

Cech‘s future has been in doubt for several months, as everyone is well aware that he lost his number one spot to Thibaut Courtois during the 2014/15 Premier League season.

A former-Gunner all-but confirmed the deal was done on Twitter as Lauren, the ex right-back, welcomed the veteran to the club and congratulated Arsenal on securing a superb signing.

Cech wants to stay in the capital

The 33-year old has made no secret that he wants to stay in the English capital, even though he is leaving Chelsea. He doesn’t want to both uproot and unsettle his family who have become accustomed to life in London.

This puts the Gunners in the driving seat to sign Cech, especially when Arsene Wenger promised him the number one spot in addition. A deal could be completed within the next week with Jose Mourinho open to the idea of Cech leaving.

Should Cech leave Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer window, he had a good final season at the club; winning both the Premier League title and the Capital One Cup.

He only made 16 appearances in all competitions for the champions last campaign.

As a parting gift, it’s reported that Roman Abramovich will give Cech ÂŁ4million to say thank you for his loyal services to the club. It’s believed that is how much Cech would earn had he stayed at the club until the end of his contract, which expires next year.
