Long-term contract to be offered to John Obi!

John Obi Mikel is expected to be handed a new contract from Chelsea which will see him stay at the London club until 2017.

The 25-year old was a regular in last season’s FA cup and Champions League glory and the Nigerian is now set to be offered an extension at the club.

His current contract runs out next summer, but his agent has revealed that a new contract is expected.

“Mikel will soon sign a new five-year contract with an improved salary and we are just about finalising the details of it.

“Mikel is one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers and the club agrees with us he deserves a new and improved contract.

“He has a year left and Chelsea have decided to add four more years to it.”

The Nigerian star signed for Chelsea back in 2006 from Lyn Oslo after beating off competition from Manchester United.
