Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne has said that he wants a new deal at the club. The forward joined Napoli’s youth setup in 2006 and has been a part of the senior team since 2010. He has made 302 appearances for Napoli, scoring 70 goals and providing 76 assists.

This season, Insigne has scored 14 goals and has provided 7 assists for Napoli. He scored a late winner in yesterday’s match against Cagliari.

Insigne’s current contract at Napoli expires in 2022 and he is eager to sign a new contract with the club. When asked about renewing his contract, Insigne replied to Sky Sport Italia, “Renewal? I’m waiting for the president. For my part there’s maximum availability. We both want to move forward together. I hope that the signing of the contract will come soon.

It was important to be clear about going ahead together. There has been misunderstanding but now there is the desire to continue united.”

Liverpool were interested in signing Insigne but the 27-year old has made it clear where his loyalty lies.
