The Manchester United manager is reportedly close to signing Pedro and Nicolas Otamendi
The Barcelona and Valencia players are expected to cost the Red Devils a combined total of £57million.
Pedro looks set to complete a £22million move to Old Trafford, after appearing to play his last match against Sevilla in the Super Cup final on Tuesday.
Barcelona’s technical secretary Robert Fernandez appeared to confirm the move saying on Spanish television channel TV3 that Pedro had told him he wants to leave.
Meanwhile, La Liga football expert Graham Hunter replied to a tweet earlier this week, suggesting Otamendi is eager to join United.
Hunter went on to admit Valencia need the money and that the Argentina international will cost the Old Trafford club a reported £35million.
United enter race for Stones
Until now, Chelsea have been the only club interested in Everton defender John Stones, but after having a second bid of £25million rejected, United could attempt to sign the 21-year-old.
The relationship between Chelsea and Everton appears to have broken down after the way in which Chelsea made public their interest in the England international.
United have now emerged as potential candidates to land the former Barnsley defender and could offer Johnny Evans as part of the deal.
Evans has been a transfer target for Everton manager Roberto Martinez for some time now and speculation started to grow regarding a £10million move.
