Following his appointment at Manchester United, Louis Van Gaal was given the all go for a £150 million transfer frenzy last summer. But it still appears that the rebuilding job at Old Trafford is far from completed.

The Dutch manager has an unbalanced squad comprising of lacking defensive options and misfiring attacking players.

Though United’s recent good form has proved a few doubters wrong and has put them in third place, but they still remain a hefty number of points behind league-leaders Chelsea.

However, with the monstrous TV deal worth £5.1 million kicking-off next season, a likely return to the Champions League and a lucrative new £750 million deal with Adidas, the Red Devils will have a bank full of cash to expend.

The Daily Express claims that Louis van Gaal has listed five players on his shortlist for next summer, all filling the roles United need improve.

It is believed Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne, Borussia Dortmund pair Mats Hummels and Marco Reus, Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman and PSV starlet Memphis Depay top the shortlisted Van Gaal has drawn up.

If United sign all of the above players in the upcoming transfer window, the Red Devils could be breaking the £150 million record they set only last summer.
