Croatia and Southampton defender Dejan Lovren looks set to become a red as it is being reported that a £20 million move to Liverpool is close. Brendan Rodgers is close to making Lovren Liverpool’s most expensive defender as the fee will trump the £18 million the Anfiled side paid for Glen Johnson and Mamadou Sakho respectively.
Lovren looks set to become the third saint to arive at Liverpool this summer after Rodgers secured the signings of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from The Saints. Liverpool are reluctant to comment on the situation with Lovren however it is being reported that he will have a medicla on Saturday, supposedly on Merseyside.
The defender is unlikely to feature on Liverpool’s American tour should he make the move. However the centreback will help improve a shaky defence that conceeded 51 goals during the last campaign. The goals conceeded by the club ultimately cost them the title.
Loic Remy’s £8.5 million move from QPR should be official over the weekend, the striker passed a medical in Boston this week, however, confirmation of the deal has been delayed due to adminstrative issues.
