Chelsea midfielder Lucas Piazon could be set to stay at Eintracht Franfurt for a further season, after the German club revealed they’re keen to keep the Brazilian in the Bundesliga.

Piazon joined Frankfurt in the summer on an initial season long loan, and has made an early impression as the side sit in 5th place in the league table.

And Frankfurt are keen to extend the loan past the end of this season, with their eye on another season long loan for the 20 year-old next campaign also.

The youngster joined Chelsea in 2012 from Sao Paulo, and has so far made just one competitive appearance for the Blues. He’s also had loan stints with Malaga and Vitesse where he particularly impressed, with 11 goals in 29 appearances for the Dutch side.

Frankfurt’s General manager Bruno Hubner said: “We will be looking to discuss things with Chelsea.

“Chelsea might hand him another loan year at our club. That would be what we are looking for because I think the Bundesliga is currently the best platform for Lucas Piazon.

“He can add a certain physical toughness to his game and will be able to make a big step if he learns to become a starter in the Bundesliga.”
