Luis Figo believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Juventus has given them an upper hand in the Champions League.
The Italian champions have managed to hold their ground strong in the Serie-A but they have failed to pass the final hurdle in this Europe’s premier competition. They reached the final on two occasions in the last four years but couldn’t get past the opponent as they had to be satisfied with the tag of runners up.
But this term they are expected to pose a completely different challenge to the others contenders as a certain Cristiano Ronaldo could make a big difference in any matches.
Gaffer Max Allegri will be relying heavily on the Portuguese international who has been a serious threat in this competition over the last few years.
Figo said, “In recent years, the Bianconeri have reached the final stages of the Champions League without Ronaldo and this year have many more chances to win on paper, even if football is unpredictable as we know.
“Surely Juventus now have more options. Cristiano guarantees quality and goals because he is a winner, the best in the world.
“I hope he will have a good experience in Italy and make the most of these last few years, which will go very fast.”
